Last updated: 2026-10-13

TabLift respects the rights of copyright owners and expects its users to do the same. Signed-in users can sync tab and chord text they type or paste into their own private library across their devices (text imported from other websites stays on the user's device and isn't stored by TabLift). Saved content is visible only to the account that saved it — TabLift never shares or publishes it. We respond to notices of claimed copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.

Designated agent

Send copyright infringement notices to our designated agent:

Filing a notice

Your notice must be in writing and include all of the following:

When we receive a valid notice, we promptly remove or disable access to the identified material and let the affected user know. Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)).

Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send our designated agent a counter-notice that includes:

We'll forward your counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. Unless they tell us they've filed a court action to restrain the activity, we may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after receiving your counter-notice.

Repeat infringers

We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.
